blockchain and crypto terms

Putting my thoughts here so i can review them and share knowledge at the same time.

Was looking into crypto during covid as an alternative investment and diversification. At the same time, with blockchain studies last semester, got to understand the aspects of blockchain and how it applies to bitcoin and ethereum.

Terms:
Privacy and security
Scalability (more for private blockchain)
Interoperability – the ability of software to exchange information between different ecosystems. In the case of blockchains, it has the potential to break the silos and to create a network of blockchains. It is a catalyst for broader adoption of blockchains and cryptocurrencies. (For mass adoption)
Atomic swap – is a smart contract technology that enables the exchange of one cryptocurrency for another without using centralized intermediaries, such as exchanges.
Oracle – Blockchain oracles are third-party services that provide smart contracts with external information. They serve as bridges between blockchains and the outside world. This is where blockchain oracles come into play, as they provide a link between off-chain and on-chain data.
Zero Knowledge Proof – In cryptography, a zero-knowledge proof or zero-knowledge protocol is a method by which one party can prove to another party that they know a value x, without conveying any information apart from the fact that they know the value x
Shelley – the decentralization of the Network, passing from three entities producing blocks to more than a thousand, making Cardano the most decentralized blockchain.
